Uganda coffee is our best selling bean. We buy the washed process beans grown in Eastern Uganda and sell it in Bear Blend, Artist's Blend, Breakfast Blend, and Animated Espresso. That region is known as Bugisu and has a subregion of Sipi Falls down by Victoria Falls.
However, a group of farmers in Western Uganda (bordering Congo) grew SL-14 and SL-28 Kenya coffee trees and then after picking the coffee, decided to try something different. Cherries are brought to the washing station from the surrounding farms and following careful inspection, are pulped and placed in fermentation tanks with Oro yeast to add complexity and depth. This is coffee that turned out far better than expected if you enjoy being a little adventurous as the processing definitely adds a fun and unique dimension of breadiness, fruit and sweetness.
The Nyabubare Washing was established in 2022 and acts as not only a hub for the community but also a training and educational resource focused on enhancing knowledge and practices to cultivate the best product possible and support farmers with loans and guidance.
