Rooibos (Red Tea)
Rooibos (Red Tea)
Red tea is grown in South Africa. Rooibos (roy-bus) tea, translated as "red bush tea" and then shortened to "red tea" is full of antioxidants, vitamins, and a long list of documented health benefits. It is not technically tea, but simply the needle of the red-bush plant, so it is caffeine free, full bodied, bright red, and hint of earthiness, and the steeped beverage has remarkable flavor. It is a great base for herbal blends, but is quite enjoyable on its own. I recommend a pinch of sweetener in each cup of tea to bring out its full body and flavor.
This is top grade and organic certified rooibos. It steeps up with a bright red hue and is a delight to drink while being quite inexpensive.
