Mozambique Africa
Once one of the largest tea growing areas in Africa, Mozambique’s tea industry was crippled during war in the 1970's and never really recovered. But the Namuli mountain range is perfect for growing tea, and three world-class tea procession stations have been set up to properly prepare tea for consumption and export.
African tea tends to be sweet with hints of fruit. While this particular lot is a "value" lot and does not particularly stand out, it has little astringency or bitterness, nice body, good sweetness, and classic black tea flavor. I recommend it as an inexpensive everyday black tea, or it is also ideal for large batches of iced tea.
