This fresh coffee comes from the legendary Guji region, a small area that used to be part of Sidamo but now is classified separately. There are few entrances to Guji--a distant and heavily forested region--and none of the routes are short or for the queasy.
This lot was grown by Sayfo Jago who was born on a coffee farm and now manages it. He has taken total control of the harvesting and processing of the coffee on his farm. This the dry processed (natural) (sun-dried) beans which make them extra fruity and sweet. As with any good Ethiopia, the fruity taste is unmistakable-- primarily peach, with a breadiness and berry note underneath it and very clean tasting. A fantastic hot coffee, but just as nice when iced.
