This is a C02 process organic fair trade decaf estate tea, and the C02 process is an all-natural process, putting this tea in a higher category than your average decaf black tea. This process is gentle, preserving the taste and antioxidants found in the tea leaf while removing all caffeine. But with that said, compared with the stellar black teas in our catalog, this one is not going to knock you off your seat. It is a really nice everyday black tea, the best decaf black tea I've found in a couple of years in fact, but certainly not memorable or exotic. I particularly recommend it in three instances. 1) Iced Tea -- you're adding sugar and maybe flavor besides, so why not use a decaf tea so that you can drink it all day or night and not worry about the caffeine. 2) You love black tea but aren't allowed caffeine. 3) Kambucha -- this will ferment and give you all the health benefits of kambucha without the caffeine.

Don't be afraid to be generous in the amount of tea you use. It has really nice flavor and body for a decaf black tea, but it never hurts to put in an extra teaspoon.

Tasting Notes: Sweet, Medium Bodied, Brisk, Slight Citrus

Steep: 2 tsp of tea for 8oz water. Water temperature: 205. Steep time 4 minutes. Sweetener: Recommended

For Iced Tea: 1TBSP of tea in 8 oz of water, Water Temperature 205. Steep time 5 minutes. Sweetener: 1TBSP sugar

Approximately 18 tsp in a 1 ounce package.
