Kenya Kiamgumo

Kenya Kiamgumo

This coffee is grown by the Kiamgumo Farmers Cooperative and consists of SL-28 and Ruiru 11 varietal coffees. Kiamgumo is the washing station where the coffee was processed. It is in the Kirinyaga Region, which is on the slopes of Mount Kenya, and one the first places we look when we are shopping for the best Kenya lots.

It's a large dense AA sized bean and needs a fair amount of heat. This coffee is remarkable. Roast it light, keep it well out of the 2nd cracks. 25 seconds out of the 1st cracks is the farthest you would want to take it, but we are going a little bit lighter than that even, about 15-20 seconds past the end of the cracks. The aroma of red wine and that initial acidity make you expect that it is going to be a treat. We are noting tastes of grape and cherry and watermelon with a lively acidity on your tongue and a lot of sweetness and long aftertaste.

US Arrival: June 2020
