what a crazy year for coffee prices. when we were at the annual Specialty Coffee Association expo last month, there were several startup companies showcasing coffee-substitutes that weren't made from coffee at all. the overall thinking is that we are in a new phase where there simply isn't enough coffee for everyone, and it's now a premium commodity, and you have to think outside the box and offer non-coffee substitutes to those who can't afford pure coffee.
that may be the new truth, but yesterday, the market dipped to the lowest price in 5 months, so i went all in and bought 13 tons of coffee. it's still double the price of a year ago and triple the price of two years ago, but it was nice to see a dip, and even if the price keeps falling, at least we got some beans for the cheapest price so far this year.
for the time being, we will still be able to offer you pure coffee at our current prices.
