Turmeric is the trendy spice as of late. But for people who want the health benefits of turmeric but not the particularly spicy taste, this tea is for you! It has apple pieces that are coated in turmeric, and then lots of orange peel and mango pieces which dominate the flavor and keep it sweet. Peppercorns, ginger, and cinnamon linger in the background, barely noticeable. The combination reminds us of a icebox cookie with mango icing.
It is nice to drink both hot and iced. Be careful not to spill the steeped tea as turmeric can potentially stain fabrics or carpets. It is sweet on its own and really doesn't need any additional sweetener to be enjoyable!
Ingredients: Apple Pieces, Mango Pieces, Rose Hips, Turmeric, Orange Peel, Cinnamon, Ginger, Peppercorn, Marigold Flowers, Natural Flavors
Tasting Notes: Sweet, very citrusy with subtle spiciness
Hot: 1 Tbsp of tea for 12oz water. Water temperature 205. Steep for 3 to 7 minutes. Sweetener optional.
Iced: 2 Tbsp of tea for every 16oz water. Water temperature: 205. Add 1tsp of sugar for every 16 ounce of water. Steep time 5 minutes. Refrigerate. Pour over ice and enjoy.
*Note: Orange Peel has a tendency to become bitter after 10 minutes of steeping, so it is important to separate the tea from the water after a reasonable amount of time.*
