This coffee comes from the legendary Harrar region, known for its mokka varietal beans that taste like blueberries. This lot is the dry processed (natural) (sun-dried) beans which make them extra fruity and sweet, and it is a very small lot of Grade 1 beans while the majority of their crop was Grade 3. These beans have none of the murky or earthy tastes that plague most Harrar beans that make it to the States. As with good Harrars, the blueberry taste is present, as well as jammy, juicy fruity notes with slight cocoa and citrus notes. It has fun tartness and you can smell the blueberries before you even put the mug to your lips. We think it's a great Ethiopian and have been appreciating how careful farming and processing can produce such amazing flavor in coffee beans.
